Uncured, No-nitrate Bacon
YUM! We love this bacon! Simple ingredients and amazing flavor. This bacon is *uncured* meaning it only has pork, salt, and sugar as the ingredients before it is smoked. Unlike other bacons that advertise "no nitrate" cures and still use celery juice/powder, this bacon is free of any additional nitrates, nitrites, and celery products that break down into nitrates.
We didn't offer "nitrate free" bacon for a long time because we could only have our bacon cured using celery juice/powder. Often times, this actually breaks down into MORE nitrates / nitrites in the meat than the amount that would be present during commercial curing processes. Long story short, we thought it was too gimmicky to do it, but this bacon is exactly what we wanted in our product line. It's truly clean and simple, just like our grandparents would've had it!
Because there are no stabilizers, please consume this bacon within 1 month of receiving it even when it is freezer kept.
