Mangalitsa Pork: Quarter, Half, Whole (Deposit)

PriceFrom $150.00

Known as the "Kobe beef of pork," Mangalitsa is one of the rarest breeds in the world. They are the last remaining wool pig with all others having gone extinct by the late 1900's. They offer an exotic and rich flavor profile that is like no other pork. While modern hogs have been bred to produce a thin layer of fat around the meat, this heritage breed produces marbled meat on pasture alone, similar to Berkshire. The main difference is that the Mangalitsa is a lard based pig, and they offer a succulent, creamy fat on some of the cuts that melts in your mouth. If you enjoy Berkshire pork, get your hands on the rare and incredible Mangalitsa pork before it's gone again!

This is a deposit on a quarter ($6/lb), half ($6.25/lb) or a whole ($5.25/lb) Mangalitsa hog, and does include custom cutting and wrapping. Custom cut and wrap at the processor runs about $250-$300 per hog, less when getting halves/quarters. More information about the cut lists, what to expect, animal standards, and meat quality is found under the "Learn more" tab. The remaining balance will be due upon pickup or delivery. We can email you a cut sheet and answer any questions you may have! Birchcreekfarmery@gmail.com.
